Just a short stroll from the legendary Eel Pie Island, The Cabbage Patch is, at first glance anyway, a fairly standard boozer, with pub grub, pool tables and fruit machines.
Venture upstairs however, and on any given night you might be confronted with a cheesy club pumping out the 80s and 90s hits, or some hurdy-gurdy wielding folk virtuoso.
The latter sounds much more appealing, but paying a fiver for a DJ playing the like of Chesney Hawkes does seem a tad on the expensive side, so have a check what's going on before you pay your upstairs door tax.
Renowned and respected by folk musicians, on the right night this is a magical venue with megastars relaxing over a pint and checking out the latest folk sensation.
