First opened in 1986 by the Princess Royal, The Osborne Studio Gallery was named after well-known sculptor James Osborne who helped to found and run the gallery until his death in 1992.

Over ten years ago the gallery moved from it original location in Covent Garden to its current premises in Knightsbridge. The gallery specializes in sporting paintings and bronzes by contemporary artists. Horse racing is a particularly strong subject.
