Founded in 1988 by Sarah Long and Carolyn Ryle-Hodges, Long and Ryle exists primarily as a consultancy service for clients wishing to purchase Modern or Contemporary art.

But the gallery (just near to Tate Britain) also plays host to a programme of temporary exhibitions. These generally look at the work of a single artist and run for around a month.
