Trafalgar Studios

14 Whitehall, Westminster, SW1A 2DY
Tel: 0870 060 6632

Two intimate studio theatres in one building, with 380 seats and 100 respectively, the Trafalgar Studios have enjoyed a huge amount of critical success recently and productions here are likely to enthral and challenge the audience.

From the wildly lowbrow Puppetry of the Penis to the acclaimed but far less interesting production of Alan Bennett’s The Old Country, this is a theatre to be reckoned with. As a visitor, it is comfortable, stylish and well equipped – the smaller theatre in particular offers real atmosphere as the action is practically in your lap.

A great theatre. I saw Riflemind at the upstairs theatre which was extremely plush and well equipped even if the play was pretty hard work... and I've just seen an Orwell showcase in the basement, which was comfy, with air conditioning which is all important when it's that crowded, and good sound and lighting. It's a great theatre, with reasonable prices and a reliable roster of crowd pleasers and brain teasers. The bar is extortionate but there are dozens of pubs nearby - and they do sell those little ice creams as well...

Loved this place. I was in a small studio and it complemented the show perfectly. The seats were these cosy little sofa-chairs, in other words, amazing! There is nothing worse then a two hour show on a battered seat feeling like a 90 year-old woman as you are crippled with pain. The bar is pretty lush too, and looks very modern.
