The oldest surviving music hall in the world, Wilton’s Music Hall has enjoyed a long and illustrious history which has seen it play host to the first ever can-can (which was promptly banned) and act as HQ to the East-Enders who opposed Mosley’s fascists during the famous Battle of Cable Street.
Saved from dereliction in 2004 by the Wilton’s Music Hall Trust, the hall today continues it long heritage as a cultural centre for the local community, and regularly features recitals, concerts and performances as well as exhibitions and guided tours of this grand old building.
