Ace Cafe

Bikers cafe on the North Circular, Ace has the rugged rock 'n' roll charm of a vintage American diner but with better tunes and an obsession with classic motorcycles.

The original cafe opened in 1938, becoming known as a 24 hour venue initially as a truckstop. In the early '50s, Ace became an established meeting place for rockers, a stop off for touring bands and a destination for a new breed of bikers.

Two significant influences informed these young bikers: rock 'n' roll and motorcycles. The cafe closed in 1969, but after 12,000 people attended the 25year reunion in 1994, Mark Wilsmore began planning its reincarnation.

It was refurbished and reopened in 2001.

Rockers and bikers from all over the world continue to stop off at Ace to share stories, fix bikes and see the legend.
