London is spoilt for choice with theatres and even has about five or six children’s theatres that are really quite bearable as an adult – however this is the best of the bunch.

The Polka runs a full programme of events and workshops but they also put on slick productions designed to introduce coach-loads of crashingly bored or sugar hyped kids to the joys of theatre. To nail this audience, you need great effects, fast dialogue and cracking plots – and the Polka applies this rule to every production.

The venue is comfortable enough to sit in for an hour and a half but smells inevitably of children. You won’t want to go here unless you have to but if you have kids to take care of, this is your best choice.
