Together is back. Hallelujah! Amanda Gegg heads down for Week 2 of the relaunch at the Coronet.

Stepping through the doors of the Coronet Theatre, you would be forgiven for feeling slightly let down by the seemingly old appearance of the foyer. However, when you are pointed in the right direction of the main room by the staff, much like we embarrassingly are tonight, it all becomes clear: this is the perfect venue for the infamous Together events to make their comeback because it is authentic and memorable, exactly like the events themselves. It is Week 2 of the relaunch and the Bloody Beetroots are set to headline...
Our first steps in to the intense Together bubble are led by the beats of 'Does It Offend You Yeah?'. It seems these guys are the 'warm-up' DJs, and my word, you couldn't pick a better act to steer the crowd in to the realms of rocked-up electro heaviness. Everyone's thinking the same thing: half an hour isn't long enough for these guys, but with so many amazing DJs you feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. We'll let it go this time.
Next on to the Main Room stage is the man of the moment, Herve. He is the first slice of the two immense DJs sandwiching the Bloody Beetroots and his set adds another level of intensity to the already-charged atmosphere. Looking around, you can see that people react to him, especially with remixes such as his version of Kidda's 'Under the Sun'. This track is, by all accounts tonight, a winner and I'm sure it will be for many sets to come. There is no doubt that Herve's popularity will keep growing; he's practically a headliner already.
Low and behold, it's 1am and time for Italian marvels The Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 to take their place on the grand stage. It's ironic that this night is taking place in a theatre because their set is, in itself very animated. They enter the spotlight in their trademark 'Spiderman/alien' masks which are pretty scary but undeniably add to the anticipation. And it's fair to say that their set is literally an electronic explosion on our eardrums. These guys are the definition of heavy, thanks to their punk-rock approach. The fact that they're playing live makes it all the better.
Stepping in to the latter part of this incredible line-up is the electro king, Kissy Sell Out. Never one to disappoint, he is on top form tonight jumping up with the crowd and spinning his specially formulated mix of squelchy electronic tracks. It's obvious he's thought about what the crowd want to hear with remixess of MJ's 'Beat It', 'Heads Will Roll' and even the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' set amongst some of his own tracks. This kind of thought and consideration is why he can always be depended on to keep a night rolling through to the early hours. For this, we love him.
Next thing we know it's 3.30am and panic sets in: this night can't be ending in an hour and a half, can it? Mowgli takes care of the rest of the night and the crowd seem to be in the frame of mind to make the most of the time left. I can't remember being surrounded by a more excitable group of clubbers. If it wasn't before, it's clear now why we've been pining for Together since it's previous residency at the late Turnmills: Not only does it attract the highest calibre of DJs from any genre it chooses, (tonight is an electro-lover's dream come true) but it brings with it a union where you know you're around friends and like-minded ravers.
Welcome back Together. Oh, how we've missed you.
