Win a pair of tickets to see Petra Jean Phillipson's 'Notes on Death' performance on 30 January at Southbank Centre's Death Festival

Spoonfed
and the Southbank Centre have joined forces to offer readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to attend an event at the centre’s latest extravaganza: ‘Death: A Festival for the Living’ (27-30 January).

The Ultimate Equalizer, The Grim Reaper, The Blessed Release. One thing is certain - we all have death in common and this January the Southbank Centre defies taboos and takes a look at this unknowable certainty from many angles.

Through music, workshops, literature and installations, and talking with everyone from philosophers to funeral workers, the Southbank Centre examines our attitudes towards death and why we are so reticent to talk about it.

Petra Jean Phillipson: Notes on Death (30 January 2012, 7:45pm)

Death and birth are subjects of interest to Petra Jean Phillipson, and the singer-songwriter questions our nature of being with the line ""to talk of death is to be most alive,' in her challenging yet tender new LP Notes on: Death.

Having collaborated with David Holmes, Martina Topley-Bird, Duke Garwood and Marianne Faithful to name but a few, Phillipson cites influences such as William Blake, Hilde Guard Von Bingen and Bob Dylan.

This competition has now closed. Thank you for entering. Check out our competitions page for the latest prizes.
