Win a pair of tickets to see the National Theatre’s production of Sean O’Casey’s Juno and the Paycock in November

Sean O’Casey’s classic play, Juno and the Paycock, is back for a revival at The National Theatre. A searing study of wasted potential in a Dublin torn apart by the chaos of the Irish Civil War, Juno and the Paycock follows the story of Jack Boyle, habitually and resolutely out of work, drinking with his side-kick Joxer while his long-suffering wife, Juno, tries to hold their family together against all the odds.

Whilst their son Johnny, crippled fighting for the IRA, hides away, terrified of reprisal, his sister Mary joins the labour movement and goes on strike. News of an inheritance inspires dreams of escape for the Boyles, but it isn’t long before reality comes crashing down, as a series of events conspire to result in tragedy.

The NT’s co-production with Dublin’s Abbey Theatre features a stellar all-Irish cast, including the marvellous Ciarán Hinds (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, There Will Be Blood) and Sinéad Cusack.
