Win a pair of tickets to see Oliver Goldsmith’s She Stoops to Conquer at the National Theatre

Spoonfed and the National Theatre have united in the name of top-draw theatre to offer readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to see a revival of one of the 18th century’s most enduringly popular plays: Oliver Goldsmith’s She Stoops to Conquer.
An ingenious comedy of courtship and chaos, She Stoops to Conquer sees Coronation Street’s Katherine Kelly play the role of Kate Hardcastle, with Steve Pemberton (The League of Gentlemen) and Sophie Thompson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) cast as Kate’s parents.
Hardcastle, is looking to set up his daughter, Kate, with Marlow, the son of wealthy Londoner, with a view to marrying her off. Unfortunately, Marlow becomes debilitatingly nervous in the presence of upper-class women. Kate realises that in order to win his love she must “stoop to conquer”, posing as a maid in order to charm him.
Matters are complicated further when a practical joke pulled by Lumpkin (Hardcastle’s stepson) means that Marlow and his travelling companion mistake the Hardcastle family home for an inn, and its occupants for innkeepers and barmaids. Mayhem and hilarity ensue, and love blossoms.
