Experimental electronica and cheap beer - what more do you need?

Austrian producer and self-taught keyboard wizard Dorian Concept drops by the Jazz Café this Friday for the kind of dazzling exhibition of live keyboard experimentation that has seen him receive praise and backing from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs and Benji B.
Dorian (aka Oliver Johnson) has become something of a YouTube sensation, gathering over 200,000 hits with his keyboard chops and programming talent. However he has successfully moved out of the ‘internet-only’ sensation box by releasing records on labels such as Affine Records, Kindred Spirits, Treble-O and R2 and touring throughout Europe, Asia and Australia in support of his releases.
Concept’s composition style and influences range from Stockhausen-esque experimental electronica to hip-hop, funk and free-form jazz. His on-the-fly improvised programming of chopped-up drum loops, melodic synth lines and bowel-shaking bass make for both an intriguing spectacle and great music, whilst his use of digital and analogue equipment make him a true innovator rather than a mere flavour of the month gimmick.
With electronica and dubstep support acts from the likes of Blue Daisy, Pariah and Jim Raygun, this London Jazz Café line-up has broken from tradition and taken a welcome turn for the contemporary and cutting edge. If that's not enough to entice you, there will discounted drinks all night.
Discount tickets, cheap drinks, bass heavy beats and a ground-breaking live performance should be all the excuses you need for a night out in Camden.
Tickets are £7 advance & more on the door, the action takes place between 11pm to 3.30am.
