Ms Dynamite returns to headline an eclectic showcase of urban talent at Brixton's Plan B

The latest edition of the Red Bull Music Academy rolls into town for a month long stint, bringing a string of music industry seminars/workshops and a top quality schedule of live gigs to venues throughout the capital from February 7th to March 12th. Brixton’s Plan B has the privilege of hosting one of the most diverse line-ups on offer, with a range of reggae, dubstep, garage, drum ‘n’ bass and jungle artists and DJs performing across two rooms throughout the night. Due to “unforeseen circumstances”, dub band Scientist will not be fulfilling their headline billing and have been replaced by Ms Dynamite.

The late inclusion of Ms Dynamite on the bill has actually come as a welcome surprise, as the talented singer/MC has been out of the spotlight since the release of 2005’s 'Judgment Days'. Dynamite was once the golden girl of the UK’s urban scene, with her critically acclaimed debut album 'A Little Deeper' bowling over critics with its refreshing combination of soul and hip-hop. After spawning the hits 'It Takes More' and 'Dy-Na-Mi-Tee', the album also won her a Mercury prize for her efforts. With her latest tune, ‘Wile Out’, finding its way into many a DJ set, 2010 is shaping up to be something of a comeback year for the singer.

Following her, will be renowned DJ, sound system selector, and Kiss FM resident for 20 straight years, David Rodigan. Famed for getting dance floors moving with his energetic and fiercely enthusiastic performances since the mid-'70s, Rodigan has built himself a formidable reputation by spinning the newest and hottest releases of roots-influenced tunes from reggae to dancehall to dubstep and beyond.

Also on the bill are all-round dubstep legends Hatcha & N-Type, El-B and J Da Flex, who'll be spinning classic garage and progressive dubstep, whilst Appleblim and Ramadanman will be mixing a range of dubstep, techno, and jungle. Meanwhile, Soul Jazz Sound System bring the best of the dubstep/electronica tunes from the soul jazz stable, before jungle-infused drum ‘n’ bass hero Kenny Ken rounds things of in collaboration with MC Skibadee.

With a line-up this varied and extensive, Plan B should become this Friday’s "Plan A" destination for bass fiends, dub addicts and music junkies alike.
