Date Night: The Doodle Bar

Date Night: The Doodle Bar

Anyone fancy drinking and drawing? DoingSomething has just the thing.

Doodle Bar
Where?

Battersea. Just to the West of Battersea Park.

How much?
Arrive before 7pm Mondays to Thursdays and it's two-fers on cocktails. From there on in, depends on how thirsty you are.

Why?
DoingSomething.co.uk holds dear to the belief that dating's more fun when you're doingsomething. Hence their name. But dating with this approach doesn't mean you can't drink, rather that if you're going to drink, better to combine with activities. Like doodling.

The Doodle Bar fits the bill nicely. You've got a big blackboard-style wall on one side of the bar and a plentiful supply of the white stuff. Chalk, obviously. Other colours provided too. A good way to explore your creative side with someone new. There's a ping pong table too, so you can combine some light artistry with a spot of competition.

And the setting itself is pretty cool. The Doodle Bar is set in an old industrial building in Battersea, where they also have art installations and various goings on. You're also by the river for a pre-date or post-date stroll depending on the weather.

Top tips?
Check to see exactly what the art installations are on next door before you go blundering in. When last we went there was a man with his, ahem, old man out, in a very surreal play. Oh, and let your date win at least one game of ping pong.

To find yourself a date tonight - check out Doingsomething.
