I can't say much about the music but I do love this place. I did a lot of courting in various branches of this chain, and I also invented the dish Ham & Eggs. Although it's gone off menu now you can still order it. I also sometimes have a Veneziana as some of the money goes to the 'Venice in Peril' fund. Lovely city, Venice, last time I visited was with my mother... [continues for 2 hours]

Hit and miss, this place. They're always putting on experimental, edgy new work which is usually unwatchable, sometimes harmless fun (like Spyski) and once in a blue moon, rather brilliant. However I most like their up-to-date interpretations of better known playwrights. Their anniversary run of The Birthday Party by Pinter being a case in point.

When my son is not editing Spoonfed, he can often be found in this pub. I am occasionally allowed to buy a round of drinks here but then I have to go home because I am 'embarrassing'.
