GHXST @ The Strongrooms

Shallow by GHXST

Describing their music as Deth Grunge over on their LastFM page, GHXST sit at the nexus between My Bloody Valentine’s soaring noise pop and Pixies-style indie rock. Playing a low key show at the Strongrooms this Tuesday, they’re also appearing down at the Old Blue Last if you can’t make it.

Wednesday 20th June
Best Coast @ The Shepherd’s Bush Empire

BEST COAST - Why I Cry by Pias France

Back with another album of squeaky clean pop gems snappily called ‘The Only Place’, Best Coast play their biggest London ever down at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire tonight. Happy US indie rock that has a smile always plastered on its face, Best Coast should be the soundtrack to any day spent mucking around.

Thursday 21st June
Sacred Reich – Underworld

Sacred Reich "Death Squad" by Metal Blade Records

Like Metallica and Megadeth, Sacred Reich were one of the bands to define 80s thrash metal through highly opinionated political lyrics, fiercely uncompromising lyrics and the occasional foray into satire. Unlike Metallica and Megadeth they had their video featured in the Pauly Shore move California Man. That has to be a career defining moment, right?
