Tuesday 10th July
Born Blonde @ Power Lunches Arts Cafe
Radio Bliss 10'' by Born Blonde
Five Londoners making tripped-out indie rock that sounds a bit like The Stone Roses meeting a really heavy version of Slowdive, Born Blonde are the latest band to crawl out of the shoegaze/noise pop scene that everyone in East London swears doesn’t exist.
Wednesday 11th July – Thursday 12th July
Boubacar Traore @ Ronnie Scott’s
Boubacar Traore - Kanou by bigbluebird
A self-taught singer songwriter who was one of Africa’s biggest stars until the overthrow of the Keita regieme which saw him banned in his native Mali, Boubacar Traore has survived tragedy and obscurity to become one of Afro-blues biggest stars. A truly remarkable musician.
Thursday 12th July
Sunless ’97 @ The Old Blue Last
Azul by SUNLESS '97
A Frankenstein’s Monster made from kosmche, psychedelic, ambient and crushed house body parts, but with a heart that is pure pop, Sunless ’97 are easily the most eclectic and hardest to classify band to come out of woodwork so far this year.
