Thursday 21st April
Blood Ceremony @ The Borderline
A bunch of Toronto-based weirdos who take their name from a cult Italian horror flick, Blood Ceremony sound like a mix between Paranoid-era Sabbath’s sluggy riffage, with a touch of 'Stand Up' period Jethro Tull. They're also not afraid to throw in some flute when the mood requires it.
Friday 22nd April
King Khan and the Shrines @ 229 The Venue
Playing the second night of Le Beat Bespoke’s annual garage rock mixer, King Khan and the Shrines are a pretty breathe-taking amalgamation of soul, jazz and rock, with vocals which owe as much to Aerosmith as they do to Sly and the Family Stone or Jimi Hendrix. If you don’t dance, then there’s something wrong with you.
