Tuesday 26th January
Vivian Girls @ Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen
Hailing from the boutiques and cramped apartments of Brooklyn, The Vivian Girls sport a sound that takes the dreamy, doo-wop inspired indie of the British shoegaze scene and adds a huge spoonful of US punk bratiness so that they sound like some awesome hybrid of Blatz and Lush. Needless to say they’re one of our favourite bands.
Thursday 28th January
Quack Quack @ The Boston Arms
Making bizarre, yet amazing avant-indoe from simple melodies and pulsating polyrhythms, Leeds based band Quack Quack’s music is as fun as it is hard to pigeonhole. File somewhere near Trans Am, Can or Afrika 70.
Saturday 30th January
Real Estate @ The Lexington
A four-piece hailing from the Garden State (that's New Jersey for those who aren't familiar with US geography or the work of Zach Braff), Real Estate are a bath of sound that takes all of the best bits of The Beach Boys, Velvet Underground and Television and mixes them up into a crazy, but really friendly beach party.
