Editors Choice - Live Music

by: Domzig

Every Monday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Dom Haley selects his top three gigs.

Tuesday 9th February

Allo Darling – Barden’s Boudoir

Arguably the whole chamber pop scene is pretty nice by design, but alongside Lulu and The Lampshades,  Allo Darling have to be one of the friendliest.  Attempting to raise some money for a trip to SXSW they’re looking for you to help out by coming along, clapping and generally getting down to some of the funnest twee folk in town.

Thursday 11th February
La Fraction – The Grosvenor

It seems pretty portentous that while the French rugby team prepares to destroy Ireland this weekend, sassy all-girl French punks La Fraction have decided to give the UK a visit to tear the London punk scene a new one.  Known for one hell of a live show, this band are well worth a visit to Stockwell for.

Friday 12th February

The Soft Pack (pictured) – The Borderline

Lacking the sneering vocals and frat-boy-party-all-night attitude of many of their contemporaries, The Soft Pack are sort of the preppies of the garage rock scene, despite once being called The Muslims. Nevertheless, they have been making quite a name for themselves recently, mainly thanks to an ability to pump out feel-good Californian sunshine almost at will.
