Dom Haley selects his top three gigs for the week ahead

Tuesday 6th September

Teebs @ Corsica Studios

Brainfeeder’s finest, Teebs is a former visual artist turned purveyor of soft, hip-hop flavoured electronic beats that make you want to wave your hands in the air like a hippy at the solstice.

Teebs - 'Why Like This' by BRAINFEEDER

Wednesday 7th September
Growlers @ The Lexington

Probably one of the most eclectic bands to come out of Long Beach since Sublime, Growlers cook up sun-addled alterno-pop out of a brew of '60s rock, hip hop and a hefty dose of the paisley underground.

The Growlers - Something Someone Jr. by Song of the Day

Thursday 8th September
Kurt Vile and the Violators @ The Scala

Usually likened to Bruce Springsteen, Bob Segar and Tom Petty, when Kurt Vile is playing with his band the Violators, his usually gentle country rock turns into what can only be described as the second coming of Ram Jam.
