Dom Haley selects his top three gigs for the week ahead

Tuesday 13th September

The War on Drugs @ Cargo

Despite losing Kurt Vile to his burgeoning solo career, The War on Drugs haven't slowed down any. Having released 2 albums in the last 12 months, they've developed from a fairly straight up folk rock band into a weird, pomp-rock band that basically sounds like Bruce Springsteen meeting Sonic Youth.

Thee Ludds @ Power Lunches

Occupying the space between Gang of Four and The Piatcians, Thee Ludds are a four-piece from Leicester playing repetitive, infectious astral punk with a sound anchored on stripped back, primal drum and bass grooves and jittery guitar lines.

Sound Tracks @ Various Locations

Joining the dots between New Cross, Shoreditch and Dalston, Sound Tracks is a cool idea for a festival that sees some of the areas raddest bands take over the Amersham Arms, Cafe OTO and Concrete as well as the East London Line trains that connect them together.
