Dom Haley selects his top three gigs for the week ahead

Monday 11th June

Mikal Cronin @ Shacklewell Arms

Mikal Cronin by @indierockgirl

A former member of Charlie and the Moonhearts and a long-time collaborator with Ty Segall, Mikal Cronin has carved a name for himself through hazy, garage-accented pop that contains more than a passing influence to the jangly indie rock of the 1980s and '90s.

Wednesday 13th June
La Sera @ The Lexington

la sera - sleeptalking by lozanolozano

The new project from Vivian Girl Katy Goodman, La Sera specialises in dreamy, drifting pop with celestial melodies and faded, heavenly vocals which nod to early pop songs.

Thursday 14th June
Saint Vitus @ The Underworld

The closest America ever got to producing a Black Sabbath of their own, Saint Vitus pioneered a slow, trudging take on doom metal, which in turn laid the groundwork for the rise of stoner metal in the early '90s.
