Not so tough

Castilians

I don’t know what it is about the Castilian’s music, but something about it makes it the perfect soundtrack for causing trouble. If you ever wanted to know what my internal soundtrack is playing when I’m drawing on your sleeping face, then simply chuck on one of their records and you’ll get a rough idea.

Left-over from 2009’s garage explosion, The Castilians are the perfect antidote to anyone who’s been spending too much time at the beach recently. Purveyors of tequila-soaked, gap-toothed love songs, sleazy garage rock, and flick-knife guitar solos, these guys are the musical equivalent of big biker types with a hidden soft side. You know, the sort of dudes who would totally deck you if you look at them funny, but secretly like kittens.

Currently releasing stuff on Coldrice records, the band are playing the headline set at PNKSLM’s relaunch party at the Old Blue Last on Saturday night. You should check that out too.
