Dom Haley selects his top three gigs for the week ahead

Tuesday 31st January

The Megaphonic Thrift  @ The Lexington

The Megaphonic Thrift - Tune Your Mind by The 405

A real super group, The Megaphonic Thrift boast members of Low Frequency In Stereo, Casiokids and Young Dreams playing shoegaze drenched in noise pop influences, they sound somewhere between Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine. They also play the Old Blue Last on the 1st.

Wednesday 1st February
Wild Flag @ The Electric Ballroom

Wild Flag - Romance by Wichita Recordings

Featuring members of Sleater Kinney and Helium, Portland super group Wild Flag make super tight, slightly punked up indie rock that sounds like the Breeders meeting The Wipers.

Check out our interview.

Friday 3rd February
D’Angelo @ The O2 Academy Brixton

D'Angelo - Everybody loves the Sunshine by AskandRecord

After a decade out of the limelight, D’Angelo,  the king of neo-soul is back and touring with a full live band. Forget your Stone Roses reunion, we're so excited about this we could scream - and probably will.
