Don’t spend your entire Stag and Dagger wandering aimlessly the backstreets of Shoreditch clutching a can of Strongbow Super. Here’s our list of who to catch at London’s Stag and Dagger...

No Joy
Village Underground
A female fronted noise pop band who seem to be squeezing what left from the depleted shoegaze and twee indie scenes, No Joy is a happy place where fuzzy hazes collides with cool-as-hell indie pop with no ill effects.

Proper Ornaments
Queen of Hoxton
The vehicle for James' from Veronica Falls more kraut-rock leanings, The Proper Ornaments makes feel-good, psychedelic indie pop that floats you down some weird psychedelic river into some weird, 60s-style hyper-colour wonderland.

Ghostpoet
XOYO
Describing himself as 'a lad with a lisp with some stories to tell', Cov rapper Ghostpoet has been the freshest thing to happen to UK hip hop since Kano decided not to suck anymore.
A more thoughtful take on the whole ‘guns and bitches’ rap thing, his tracks include odes to pork pies, not getting paid and sat nav systems, served up between slices of gritty electronics and loopy, upbeat choruses.
Ghostpoet - Gone by Brownswood
Big Deal
A duo made up of Kacey Underwood and Alice Costello, Big Deal sound like Blood Red Shoes and Summer Camp inhabiting the same space. If you’re struggling think woozy garage rock with lazily melodious vocals smeared on top.

Becoming Real
Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen
As we’ve all heard about 1689831 times already, the whole IDM-meets-dubstep thing is supposed to be the hot new sound of 2011. To be honest, I can take or leave most of it, but try as hard as I can, I just can’t help but like the dark, oddly shaped electronica of Becoming Real. Ever since he opened up for Salem back when they played St Leonard’s Church I’ve been hooked.
Apparently he used to be in a Sonic Youth cover band, which explains everything really.
Becoming Real 'THE THING' by Beatcast
Stag and Dagger will be taking over Shoreditch on the 19th and 20th of May.
