Who to see at the 1234 Shoreditch Festival

Going to 1234? Yeah us too. Here's who we're planning to check out...

ZULU
Appearing at the Diverge after-party.

We're Watching You by wayoftheZULU

Sounding a bit like Wire meeting the Cramps, Zulu are a bunch of Londoners who seem determined to resurrect the rabble rousing punk sound of the late ‘70s. Having held their own their own on tour with Cerebral Ballzy and tearing up Birthdays a couple of weeks ago, you know these guys can hold their own with the best of them.

Visions of Trees

Disappeared by Visions of Trees

Spewing out a unique blend of female-fronted electronic that they’ve helpfully labelled ‘witch house’, Visions of Trees flit between ambient dubstep and furiously beat-dreched tribal electro to create wierd, mind-bending club bangers.

Sudakistan
Appearing at the PNKLSM after-party

El Movimiento (Teenhäze Edit) by Sudakistan

A bunch of Swedish-based Latino gods making  a noise that is somewhere between Ricky Martin’s hip shaking , the Soft Pack’s poppy garage rock and weird ‘keys-in-the bowl’ sex party,  Sudakistan have party written all over them.

JEFF the Brotherhood

Mellow Out by JEFF The Brotherhood

Probably the most genius band to come out of Nashville since, well a long, long time, JEFF the Brotherhood’s blend of hard-drinking, bar-fighting rock ‘n’ roll has even managed to get hip-hop godfather Jay Z singing their praises. Basically, if you like the idea of a really acidy version of Foghorn, then you need to check out these guys.

Keel Her
Appearing at the Shacklewell Arms after-party

KEEL HER - Weirdo by italianbeachbabes

Fronted and created by talented young singer/songwriter/producer Rose Keeler-Schäffeler, Keel Her makes rattling lo-fi indie pop that sounds a bit like Hole jamming with My Bloody Valentine.

Dirty Beaches

True Blue by ZOO MUSIC

A Canadian with one of the most impressive quiffs we've ever seen, Dirty Beaches makes woozy, sun hazed beach pop that sounds like Del Shannon filtered through Suicide and played down one of those crap 1980s Ferrari phones.

1234 takes over Shoreditch Park this Saturday.
