Pole Dancing Taster

Pole Dancing Taster

For all of those who think that they can give a better show around the pole than Britney Spears (Yep, I'm one of 'em), this taster course run by Polepeople is for you. This two hour session is tasty, tantalising fun, as well as giving you the opportunity to work those muscles. Definitely a sexy alternative to the mundane routines of the gym and your body will still scream at you the next day. (I got a good telling off from mine!)

The location I warn you, is off the beaten track, behind the shops, just off of Regent's Street.  It does not have a big neon sign saying "pole dancing here", you will only find out if you're in the right place when you buzz the intercom.  It all adds to the fun, people!

The instructor of the class was bubbly and extremely motivating, and her moves... well, let's just say that you are in the hands of an expert (phew!). In the session, you are taught a routine that is broken down in to manageable baby steps.  This is all done in time to some seriously funky, bottom wiggling, tunes that really get you in the mood to wrap yourself around that pole.  At the end of the two hour session, you piece these moves together, and try and go through the whole thing.  Don't worry girls; you will be able to do at least one of the moves if not the whole sequence by the end of the two hours.  If I can do it, believe me, you can.

It's easier to strut your stuff in a pair of heels in the class, but for all of you who wobble in your heels, you can also do the class in your bare feet.   I painted my toe nails in honour of this occasion!  You are advised not to moisturise before the session, as you will literally slide off that pole, and it is definitely easier to do the class in shorts.  You can just about get away with wearing track suit bottoms, if you don’t like your pins.

Whatever your shape or size, this class definitely makes you feel extremely sassy and more importantly a bit of a sex kitten. You will want to demonstrate your newly found skills wherever you see a pole (this has been personally tried and tested on the tube home!)

If you're not sure whether you want to commit yourself to the 6 week course at £160; why not give the taster course a try.  At £20 I thought it was a worthwhile evening spent, and the moves taught will certainly impress the man in your life. No man? Who cares, it is a fabulous girl's night out and if you have a hint of minx in you, you will definitely consider a career change the next day!
