Every Friday, our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Emma McAlpine selects her top three gigs.

Tuesday 24th-Saturday 28th April
Bridget Christie: Housewife Surrealist @ Soho Theatre
Multi award-winning comedian Bridget Christie presents her critically-acclaimed Edinburgh show, a delightful blend of smart and absurd stand-up, which sees her she handing out communion wafers, eating a banana, explaining religion, suggesting how Ken Clarke should eat a toad in the hole, and re-enacting The Ascension of Christ using a fishing rod.
Wednesday 25th April
Sketchercise 2nd Birthday @ Ginglik
One of our favourite sketch and character nights, looks like it's going to be another belter of a gig this month. Hosted by brilliant duo Allnutt and Simpson, the show will feature performances from Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Cariad Lloyd, exciting sketch group Sheeps, hilarious oddball Ben Target, multi-talented new character comic Damien Slash and new acts Making Faces and The Errors of Comedy.
Friday 27th April
Horace Fingernips @ Leicester Square Theatre
A horror musical written by The Pranker's Ross Lee and Harry Deansway (promoter of Deansway's Comedy Club), Horace Fingernips is the story of an aspiring comedian (Barry Chancer) who does a deal with the demon prince of humour (Horace Fingernips) to take him to the top. Set in the comedy industry, in a world inhabited by evil villains and a talking mattress, the musical promises love, laughs, songs and muderous monstrosity. How good does that sound?!
We have a 25% discount to give Spoonfed readers for Horace Fingernips. Just email Harry Deansway at deansways@gmail.com to be added to the list.
