School Night @ New Red Lion Theatre
We don't mind going back to school for this particular lesson. School Night launches at the Red Lion this month, aiming to give pupils all the teachers that they wish they could have had back when they were at school. Featuring well established, award-winning acts and some up-and-coming stars, rowdy students will be kept in check by the form tutor (compere), and each show will be split into 'lessons', with a different teacher (comedian) teaching each lesson (performing some material related to the subject). There will also be an opportunity for students to visit the tuck shop to stock up on rainbow drops, dib-dabs, space raiders, and calypso drinks. This launch gig sees form tutor Matthew Crosby taking the register at 8pm sharp, with maths taught by Matt Parker, music with Steve Pretty, science with Steve Mould, PSHE with Helen Arney, and (double) history with Humphrey Ker.

The Pajama Men: In The Middle of No One @ Charing Cross Theatre
Combining sketches, character comedy, improv and physical theatre, The Pajama Men are a mind-boggling spectacle that has to be seen. Hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Shenoah Allen and Mark Chavez have had tremendous success with their act (part clowning and part actioned-packed story), which saw them nominated for a Perrier award in 2004. Following a sell-out run at the Soho Theatre last year, they transfer their new show to the Charing Cross Theatre for the next two months: a fast-paced comedy thriller about love, alien abduction, the pressure cooker of solitude and the spirit of adventure.
