Every Monday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Emma McAlpine selects her top three comedy nights.

Monday 29th March
Lady Garden and Friends @ The Wilmington Arms

All-female sketch group Lady Garden have resumed their residency at the Wilmington Arms with some excellent line-ups on the cards and, more importantly, free cake. Tonight's acts include Perrier award nominee Rufus Jones and Victorian sketch trio The Penny Dreadfuls.

Tuesday 30th March
Channel 4 Comedy Gala @ O2 Arena

Dubbed 'the biggest live stand-up event in UK history', Channel 4's Comedy Gala, will feature some of the biggest names in British comedy including Black Books star Bill Bailey, TV and radio personality Alan Carr, Gavin and Stacey's Ruth Jones, James Corden and Rob Brydon, Peep Show's David Mitchell, The Mighty Boosh's Noel Fielding, Jonathan Ross, Lee Evans, Jack Dee and many, many more. Alright so it's the O2, but for a line-up like this it might just be worth it.

Thursday 1st April
Boothby Graffoe and the April Fools
@ Leicester Square Theatre

In aid of April Fool's Day, The Fix comedy consortium is presenting a one-off evening of eclectic entertainment at Leicester Square Theatre. On the bill is surrealist songwriter Boothby Graffoe, excellent comedy actor Kevin Eldon (Big Train, Brass Eye), bonkers improv genius Phil Kay and a secret special guest. It's a rare chance to catch some of the circuit's cult favourites, so don't miss out.
