Every Monday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Emma McAlpine selects her top three comedy nights.

Claudia O'Doherty: Monster of the Deep 3D @ Soho Theatre
2nd-11th September

Winning the 'Best Newcomer' award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival this year, Claudia O'Doherty's mock lecture about her undersea colony and research facility Aquaplex, is a delightful hour of comedic fantasy. From handing out dream helmets for the audience to conducting a Q&A session about her life in Aquaplex, this is a charming and innovative solo debut from the award-winning Australian.

Stewart Francis @ Bloomsbury Theatre
3rd September

Stewart Francis is one of the best craftsmen in the business when it comes to one-liners, with deadpan jokes that are so cleverly constructed you barely have time to stop laughing before the next one hits you. Tonight's show is a DVD recording so you can expect the best from the Canadian stand-up tonight.

Monkey Business @ Oxford Pub
4th September

Monkey Business presents winners of the Hackney Empire New Act 2010, the brilliant improv rap duo Abandoman, with some excellent support in the shape of Edinburgh Award nominee Tom Wrigglesworth and the sharp and aardonic Alistair Barrie.
