Every Monday, our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Emma McAlpine selects her top three comedy nights.

Monday 31st January-Saturday 5th March

Simon Munnery
@ Soho Theatre

Multi-award winning comedian's comedian Simon Munnery brings his surreal stylings to London with his latest show: Self-Employed. Unlike some of his more 'loopy' performances of late, Self-Employed promises an hour of polished material. Munnery even ditches his buckethead hat in favour of a suit.

Monday 31st January
Horne Section @ Lyric Theatre

Alex Horne kicks off his Lyric season with an extra special Horney line-up, including the giant balloon cabaret act  Bruce Airhead, Mock The Week star Mark Watson, one-liner legend Tim Vine, legends in Lederhosen Oompah Brass and award-winning comic poet Tim Key.

Saturday 5th February
Live at the Chapel with Stephen Merchant @ Union Chapel

Another top Live At The Chapel line-up thisn month, headed by BAFTA/ Emmy and British Comedy Award winning comedian, Stephen Merchant. Supporting him (although all these comics are headliners really), will be brilliant comedy rapper Doc Brown, political satirist and Bugle podcaster Andy Zaltzman and top American comedian Dave Hill (doing a short spot as part of his whistlestop UK tour). Seamlessly holding the gig together will be hilarious Kiwi and cracking compere, Jarred Christmas. Excellent stuff.

(pictured) brings his envigorating show to the Soho Theatre. Expect singing, dancing, poetry and shouting. In the best possible way.
