by: Emma
Every Friday, our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Emma McAlpine selects her top three gigs.

Monday 19th December
The Beta Males Go West! @ Wilmington Arms
'Slicker than an oil slick' sketch group The Beta Males ride into town with a a spaghetti western themed show at the Wilmington Arms, also featuring Edinburgh 'Best Newcomer' winner 2011, the brilliant Humphrey Ker. Expect blood, gold, dynamite and an adventure with much gun.
Tuesday 20th December
Lolitics @ The Black Heart
A new home for Chris Coltrane's radical-political comedy night. No Christmas office parties, just inspiring Tory-smashing comedy. Expect jokes about the Tories and the cuts, the economy, socialism, feminism, the media, science, and anything that matter.
Wednesday 14th December - Saturday 7th January
Sam Simmons: Meanwhile @ Soho Theatre
One of my favourite shows from this year's Fringe, crackers Aussie stand-up Sam Simmons returns to London with a new hour of material, featuring '90s chart hits, hilarious dances, surreal flip chart drawings and brusque audience interaction. An exhilarating hour of well-organised chaos and mind-boggling absurdity, it's certainly comedy, but not as you know it.
