Spoonfed Live, Josie Long and sketchy times: Editor's Choice - Comedy

Every Friday, our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week to come. Emma McAlpine selects her top three comedy nights.

Tuesday 19th April
Sketchercise @ Ginglik

Tonight is Sketchercise's one year birthday, and they're celebrating with a top line-up including 2010 Edinburgh Best Newcomer Nominees, Late Night Gimp Fight, talented character comedian Pippa Evans and writer, co-creator and co-producer of Da Ali G Show, Jamie Glassman.

Tuesday 19th April
The Bright Club @ Wilmington Arms

The Bright Club is a 'thinking person's variety night' where each month experts are invited from the worlds of music, comedy, science, art, history, performance (and anything else that will fit on a stage) to dissect a subject of great significance in the cosy Wilmington Arms pub. This month's theme is WORLD and is compered by the queen of whimsy, Josie Long.

Thursday 21st April
Spoonfed Live @ Crack Comedy Islington

For Spoonfed's second live comedy gig with team Crack, we present the cream of the stand-up circuit, including the runaway hit of the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe, Nick Helm, the razor-sharp Paul Sinha and Royal Variety Show star Hal Cruttenden as your headline act. The ever-witty Steve n Allen will be your host for the evening. Held in the distinctly un-pubby top floor of Islington Green's Slug and Lettuce, as the name suggests, this is going to be a cracking gig. See you there!
