Every Friday, our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week to come. Emma McAlpine selects her top three comedy nights.

Monday 4th April
Tim Key: The Slutcracker @ Lyric Theatre

The last London outing of Tim Key's Edinburgh award-winning comedy show. Key's act, combining short poems and film with a comical stage persona is uniquely hilarious. It's no good us trying to explain why - you just have to see it for yourself.

Thursday 7th April
Crash Test Comedy @ Pleasance Theatre

One of the top sketch nights in London, Crash Test returns this month with another epic line-up. Edinburgh award nominees Idiots Of Ants host the gig, featuring the inventive, twisted and always hilarious Beta Males, brilliant all female troupe Lady Garden, top character comedian Adam Riches, Edinburgh 'Best Newcomer' nominees Late Night Gimp Fight and more.

Sunday 10th April

John Cooper Clark @ Rose Theatre

The original punk poet and bard of Salford makes a rare London appearance at Rose Theatre this weekend. The raven haired, leathery faced wordsmiths' fans and collaborators include Arctic Monkeys, Reverend & The Makers, the Sex Pistols and Joy Division. His beguiling, amusing and rapid-fire poetry has now become the stuff of legend.
