artist Bruce Springsteen

Twenty-four albums in and still going strong, is there anything negative we can say about the great Bruce Springsteen?
I'm having trouble thinking of anything. OK I don't think that latest single 'What Love Can Do' will go down in the annals of time as one of Springsteen's true classics but that's not to take away from the catchy well crafted tune that it is.
But don't take my word for it, go, buy the new album in fact, buy all 24

artist Fuck Dress

At first, nothing about this band really makes sense what exactly is a 'fuck dress'? What do they mean by 'everything is ultra now'? Are these guys trying to be taken seriously or are they self-consciously weird, ironic and just a little bit shit?
This single certainly suggests so, but it turns out I was simply listening to the poorest offering on their MySpace. If their other tunes are anything to go by, then Fuck Dress might actually be worth a second listen.

artist Noisettes

I love The Noisettes. Before the Lady Gagas and Ida Marias of this world were even picking up guitars, Shingai Shoniwa and her band were out there making the sorts of tunes these other fashion-pop princesses could only dream of. They might have disappeared for a while but they're back with a vengeance and an excellent tune to boot.
'Don't Upset the Rhythm' is a fantastic slice of disco pop mixed up with a little bit of funk and a whole lot of attitude. Love it. 4.5/5

artist Three Trapped Tigers
Thursday, 05 March
Not only do Three Trapped Tigers win the award for best animal-themed name narrowly beating Pull Tiger Tail to the title, they have also pulled off one of the best EPs I've heard in ages.
Taking the listener in all directions, each of the 5 tracks manages to sound like a cacophony of noise yet at the same time beautifully melodic. Picking up where 65 Days of Static left off, Three Trapped Tigers are certainly ones to watch out for

artist Taylor Swift

They say if you can't beat them join them, and in the case of Taylor Swift, that's exactly what I'm going to do. Besides, her colossal fan base can't be wrong, can they?
'Love Story', the latest single from Swift's No.1 album 'Fearless', is a well crafted country-pop song that Miley Cyrus, Hilary Duff and Selena Gomez probably all wish they'd thought of first. I hope to God I don't hear it next time I'm in the pub, but whack it in any chick flick and there won't be a dry eye in the house. 3/5

artist New Rhodes
Thursday, 12 February
New Rhodes' latest single, indeed New Rhodes themselves, are one of those bands who sit perfectly under the term 'Landfill Indie'.
'The Joys Of Finding And Losing That Girl' is one such song you could expect to find this in the indie-compilation pit: well dressed band, catchy riff lines, and lyrics which have been written in accordance with the definitive indie checklist. In this instance New Rhodes have chosen that ever popular subject 'The Girl', or should I say 'That Girl'. Listen, enjoy and then safely dispose of it
