From New Releases 9th March
T.I. and Justin Timberlake – Dead and Gone
Jive Records

T.I. takes up the Tupac mantle, gangsta rapping about fear and weakness, biting off more than you can chew, and the persistent desire to turn one's back on gangsterism in favour of, say, chilling out at a beauty spa with Justin Timberlake.

Like Tupac, T.I. has a very fluent, witty style and he's not above celebrity guest spots. Predictable beats and daft, plangent piano melodies also recall the amateurish, forgettable album fodder which fans of Tupac file under 'fast forward'. 3/5

C'mon... alright so they've sold out. They're still bleeding brilliant! Chilled out tunes that you actually want to listen to. I rate them slightly better than Air.
event Parlour Song Monday, 23 March
Note: this production stars Andrew Lincoln aka Egg from This Life.
artist The Foxes Friday, 13 March
From Singles Reviews for 16th March:

The Foxes – Bill Hicks
Room 10

What a travesty. What the hell do slutty chicks and middle-of-the-road lad-rock have to do with Bill Hicks? These guys are morons and about as edgy as McFly. Co-opting a dead man to try and boost their punk points won't help.

Knee-jerk hatred aside, this song is obviously a bland piece of crap and the idiotic foursome behind it are a complete shower of fools. Whoah! The Foxes think Bill Hicks is cool! So does my accountant... get bent, you cretins! 0/5
artist Pete Tong Thursday, 05 March
I once saw Pete Tong at Luton Airport, 3am on the way back from a stag do in Ibiza. He was waiting for his luggage to drop onto the carousel like a normal person!

He gave me one of those neutral smiles that says 'yes, it's me, go away'... which is about as nice as you can expect a human being to be, if they are in Luton.
artist Bob Dylan Monday, 02 March
I love Bob too. However mostly I just love having this piece of writing on the site - a little testament to the musical passions of Marcus. Back in the dawn of Spoonfed we once spent an entire day listening to nothing but Bob. We both agreed it had been great!
venue Camden People's Theatre Monday, 23 February
Last time I went here one of the actors ended up naked, locked outside the venue and hammering on the windows while the audience laughed and bemused passers by stared at his bare arse.
venue Fairfield Hall Thursday, 19 February
Big ol' place, never seen anything here except a panto but they get some big stars through.
artist Madcon Thursday, 19 February
From Singles of the Week, released 23 February:

Madcon – Liar
SonyBMG

Madcon's latest is almost exactly like their multi-platinum smash 'Beggin', except that they've put together the vocal sample themselves rather than lifting it. It boasts the same driving bass-guitar hooks, high singalong chorus and smooth radio-friendly lyrics about romantic entanglement.

It's a good club tune, considerably enhanced by a Britney-inspired high school video and well worth a shower-radio sing along. If their next tune is exactly the same, though, we're labeling them the Finnish Jamiroquai. 3/5

event Cooking With Elvis Tuesday, 17 February
This show is a fringe belter, and worth seeing at the Gatehouse for their star Mario Kaumbo, who has starred in Jailhouse Rock the Musical and in 2005 won the premier Elvis impersonation contest, the Images of The King World Championship in Memphis, Tennessee. Beat that!
