The legendary house label brings the noise from Leeds
2020 Vision records has endured 16 years in the business and managed to stay fresh with a steady flow of quality releases. It was started in Leeds by Carl Finlow and current owner Ralph Lawson in the hype surrounding legendary club night Back to Basics. The label has since gone from strength to strength and managed to constantly keep up with the evolution of house music. Nurturing such artists as Crazy P, Simon Baker and more recently Audiojack, they've never been afraid to push the envelope. On Friday night the label is showcasing their sound at Village Underground in an epic twelve hour party, giving them time to explore the entirety of their unique sound, both in its live and DJ forms.
This is the only chance to see 2020 vision sound-system's jaw dropping show in London this summer as the four-strong band go on a mini-tour of Sonar, The Big Chill, Space Ibiza and The Garden Festival in Croatia. Formed by Lawson and Danny 'dubble d' Ward in 2003, the band was initially conceived as a way of combining the smooth flow of DJing with the raw excitement of live instruments. Always a live project at its heart, the initial ideas for their tunes were formed during live jamming sessions and later polished in the studio.
The cavernous Village Underground gives the party a warehouse rave feel and the multiple skylights make the most of the summer light that the 12 hour party will experience. Despite the length of the night there's not a single filler DJ – the line-up is as seamless as a PVC suit. Infant records boss Simon Baker hammers out his mesmerising brand of deep house and minimal techno while Crazy P treat you to their usual show-stopping live set. Other delights in this tasty selection are Stuttgart's own Motor City Drum Ensemble, Jozif, Danny Raper, Chris Halliday and a live techno set from Julien Chaptal.
If this wasn't enough the first 200 people through the door will receive a free copy of the We Love 20:20 Vision Space Ibiza Compilation mixed by the main man Ralph Lawson. This will sell out, so get your ticket now!
