The Dead Weather – Treat Me Like Your Mother
Third Man
Like all good things, the more you listen and the deeper you look the more you find to love. This may be a perfect rock 'n' roll song. All the integral elements are in place; perfectly, temptingly, tauntingly so. The fuck-you lyrics of Alison Mosshart, her barbed-wire dragged through raw silk vocals, the achingly cool, grindingly sexual stamp of Mr Jack White, powerhouse drumming, Sabbath-style riffs, angst, boy-meets-girl, love and hate.
A rebel-without-a-cause heroic glory shrouds the whole track, the whole group – an image certainly compounded by the trailer for the video. I love everything about this song and more. 4.9/5

#nhc09 This looks like the best carnival afterparty in my opinion.

artist Nathan Fake
Tuesday, 09 June
Saw Mr Nathan Fake play Corsica Studios for James Holden's Border Community night. Absolutely brilliant but so packed it reminded me of the Pennywise mosh pit at Reading Festival I narrowly escaped from, aged 16. No elbow room. No dancing space. Verging on unpleasant. No crowd surfing though....

This club is absolutely brilliant. It's such a refreshing change to be slammed by a superior soundsystem that doesn't feel like it's doing you real ear damage. You can sit on the subs and still not be in danger of deafness.
Sounds great - and they play techno.
