Why are all the best clubs closing? Absolutely gutted to hear The End will be closing it's doors in 2009. They have quite possibly the finest, most expansive line-ups of any London club. The difference represented by the various promoters who call West Central street home is astonishing. Breaks, techno, house, hip hop, US house, electronica, live bands, afterparties, sexy european parties, a film club, they really do have it all. Well done The End, and thanks for the memories.

Clearly everyone is loving Koko as much as me. Went there last night and i'd nearly forgotten what a stand out venue it is. Being a short arse, I can rarely see at gigs and have got used to becoming overly familiar with the person in fronts plaid shirt whenever i go to see a band. But Koko is perfect for shortees. The balconies enable you to see everything, lean on a barrier, and be within a couple of steps of a bar at all times. It may well be the best live music venue in London....what a claim...

I really love Ziggy's. Catching up with a friend on their sofas over a bottle of wine while the DJs provide a decent soundtrack is something I keep coming back for. Summer or winter, it's a really nice hangout.

A Skillz is an absolute badman. Completely rocks any party. He's a turntable alchemist who has crates deep enough to move any crowd, anywhere.

They get some bloody good DJs to play their top room at the Old Queens Head - and it feels like you're in someones lounge with A Skillz scratching away in the corner.
