After three great years as Egg's Friday night fixture, Always Fridays moves on.
Alwayz Fridayz (as it used to be spelt) is one of London clubland's crowning glories. Held at Egg each and every Friday, it was, unbelievably perhaps, free before 11pm. Unheard of when you take a look at the line-ups. They were always excellent and forward thinking: the DJs of now playing to people who knew their beats.
Highlights have included Crookers, The Bloody Beetroots, Friendly Fires, Justice, Ellen Allien. I could go on.
The final Always Fridays will be on February 19th. Between now and then expect appearances from Konrad Black, Zinc, MJ Cole, Jesper Dahlback, Malente, Mike Monday and more.
'As 2010 gets underway it felt like the right time for a reinvention' says the team. 'Watch this space for a series of warehouse events and other special one-offs.' On 27th February they are taking over a room at Ritterbutzke in Berlin.
Filling the Friday night space will be a new in-house promotion team: BLOW - launching on February 26th.
