Bugged Out, Simmer and Another Island: Editor's Choice - Clubbing

18 November, 2011
by: Lowri

Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Lowri Clarke selects her top three club nights.

Friday 25th November

Simmer

Simmer turn three - the house and techno protagonists who have a propensity for chucking a high octane brew on the burner and turning up the heat. To celebrate they're bringing back arguably the finest act to grace the Simmer stage, the electrifying KiNK.

Now in a brand new live act with acid house stalwart Neville Watson, it's the Poker Flat/Rush Hour team's first performance on English soil. This has all the ingredients for an awesome night.

Also in the game tonight are 90s techno innovators Silicone Soul.

Saturday 26th November
Another Island

Come one and all to this hot and steamy sanctuary hidden from the whistling streets. Space lovers, disco hounds unite: you are our quarry. This is the shiny first edition, and they bring DJ Rocca (Luca Roccatagliati) - one half of superproducer team Ajello with Fabrizio Tavernelli - to shake you down. His roots are embedded in acid jazz - he was resident of Maffia Club playing alongside Leftfield, Coldcut and James Lavelle.

Able support comes in the shape of fellow Italian - and boss of Italo Italians label - Fab May Day. And to top it off Campari Safari DJs will be laying down the usual gems.

Saturday 26th November
Bugged Out!
Bugged Out bring another fresh line-up to XOYO - Dutch prodigy Martyn who has spliced techno and dubstep so beautifully on his latest album Ghost People.

And Bristol's Julio Bashmore has gone stratospheric since his first Ditybird release. Mixing house and UK garage, he brings serious heat.
