Fedde le Grand's selections - even he can't get THAT Goyte tune out of his head...

Fedde Le Grand is the Dutch producer responsible for the now infamous 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit'. He resides comfortably in many a 'World's Top DJ' list year on year. We discover the tunes he chooses for those pivotal moments.
What song woke you up this morning?
A new production I'm working on. I always check my mix-downs with a fresh head on in the morning, it’s the best time to get my ideas out of my head.
What would you play your in-laws (hypothetical or not!) while you eat Sunday lunch?
Some chill out stuff like ST Germain - Tourist. I don’t think they’d appreciate pumping electro while they carved up the meat!
The song you lost your virginity to? (or wish you had...)
Extreme - More Than Words, I know (mushy) LOL – but it worked ;)
Most embarrassing guilty pleasure?
Steven Segal movies. I know - horrible, but it relaxes me somehow. He might not be the best actor in the world but I love watching the fight scenes, I’m a massive martial arts fan.
The one you can't get out of your head right now.
Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know, an amazing track and it just keeps going round and round and round in my head. The use of the beginning riff is genius and the vocal has just such a soothing quality to it and when he hits the chorus, just wow, then add in Kimbra, the level of harmonising and for me it’s got all the bases covered for a great song. Love the video too.
The tune that stirs the ultimate dancefloor memory?
Joey Beltram - Energy Flash, for me one of the best tracks ever made and music that helped define my generation.
First tune you ever bought?
Michael Jackson – Thriller, I’m a huge Michael fan, he was a genius when it came to making music and crafting the perfect pop song.
Song you want played at your funeral?
Sting - Fragile. Enough said really!
Tune you wish you'd written?
Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River. I really admire Justin as a vocalist, he’s got a quality to his voice that’s incredibly soulful, his range is perfect and on Cry Me A River, I don’t know maybe because you associate it with Britney Spears, you just find yourself identifying with the song, like you understand what he’s singing about, why he’s so bitter. He brings a lot of emotion to his music, I’d love to get him into the studio and work with him, he’s definitely on my hit list.
The song that best reignites an ailing dancefloor?
My re-edit of Faithless - Insomnia, works every time. I do a lot of my own re-edits, they’re initially for me to play out in my sets because, although I love certain tracks, they don’t always fit in with my style of music. So I do my own personal bootlegs, and sometimes the demand for them from fans and fellow DJs warrants an official release, if of course that can be done!
The song you've never heard played out but wish you had?
Still can't find the title...
You're playing the last set at the last ever party on earth – what is your final tune?
Kings Of Tomorrow Ft Julie Mc Knight – Finally – amazing house tune, one of the best ever written, it just has a quality that’s timeless to it, I think even when it was first released, it had ‘classic’ running through it. It won’t ever age, and it doesn’t matter where you are when you drop it on the floor, the whole place just reacts to it.
You can catch him playing at High Definition Festival in Essex this Saturday June 30th.
