Editor's Choice - Clubbing

02 August, 2010
by: Lowri

Every Monday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Lowri Clarke selects her top three club nights.

Friday 6 August
Crooked Use
Tonight is Crooked Use's second outing and if they carry on like this they are going to start making a decent reputation for them selves.

Commercial Suicide boss Klute is one of the longer standing DJs in D&B and has been producing high quality techno influenced broken beats for 16 years now. Expect a progressive and melodic set.

Lenzman is another huge name despite having only had his first major release two years ago. His unique brand of huge, floor shaking basslines and soulful melodies and vocals will keep you moving all night.

Saturday 7 August

Hydroplex Boat Party

Plex return to their motto, this time on water: techno, electro, acid and bass. Flying in from Holland to play rare live sets are Dexter and Cosmic Force (Clone). They join two big hitters from the UK electro scene Marco Bernardi and Radioactive man playing live, with Dexorcist and Bass Junkie playing a 90 minute back to back set.

It's onto the Basing House for an official after party when you dock, featuring sets from the boat artists, an exclusive show from Synchornise plus Cultivated Electronics head honcho Synch 24 and nanobot.

Saturday 7 August
Old Queen's Head Summer Party

Mullets, aviators and white linen suits are three things The Old Queen's head are massively into. For risk of ridicule they can’t always show their appreciation for such items, but every year they create an occasion at their summer party to don their glad rags down some (lots of) beach cocktails.
Entry is free, fancy dress is recommended and there's a photo booth to savour these ever so ridiculous moments. They’re pretty much recreating Miami Vice in North London, just without the guns and unfortunately no speed boats
