Electric Roller Disco, Them and Hundred Hand Slap: Editor's Choice - Clubbing

by: Lowri

Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Lowri Clarke selects her top three club nights.

Friday 10th February

Them 3rd Birthday
Them turn three tonight - and as you'd expect they've brought some of the freshest artists around to help them celebrate. Glasgow's Rustie is absolutely killing it at the moment. His album Glass Swords is a work of genius and playing live he consistently blows minds. He's joined by Pangaea, Zed Bias who'll be playing a 2 hour set, Deadboy and many other bass-focussed badboys. Expect a near hysterical dancefloor. This will bang.

Saturday 11th February
Electric Roller Disco
Hells bells. A roller disco with the disco alumni! Warm, Electric Minds and Dalston Superstore team up for this one, and with Floating Points heading things up with the Horse Meat Disco boys, you can expect some cosmic disco vibes as you skate. The venue is awesome: a huge Hackney warehouse with gourmet street food, dress up, art, multiple bars and excellent tunes. Oh, and the ticket includes skate hire and after-party. What else could one ask for?

Saturday 11th February
Hundred Hand Slap
Head Hundred Hand Slapper and Disco Shedonist Trol23 returns to dish out raggalicious bootyfunk alongside a tasting menu of exemplary figures from the UK underground. Tonight he teams up with Saine (The Selector) plus Marv-Ill Superlungs and YasSon performing a beatbox showcase. A small night with big sounds, no defined genre policy and a focus on promoting really good music and musicians over image and ego, this is a little oasis of awesome in a desert of mediocrity.
And it's free to get in!
