The future of Ministry Of Sound hangs in the balance following a planning application by property developer Oakmayne. The company has submitted plans for a residential building directly opposite the club, which, if built, could threaten the entertainment license with noise complaints from dwellers.
According to the Ministry Of Sound website, Oakmayne's Chairman, Christopher Allen, is unconcerned about the potential effect, saying that "nightclubs come and go".
If Ministry closes it will be another of London's superclubs to fall foul of the wrecking ball. Turnmills, The Cross, The Key and Canvas were all victims of 'regeneration'.
