We talk tunes, stoats and sunrise raving with the man behind mulletover.

Mulletover are the party crew you can rely on to throw down the gauntlet. Rob Star and Staurt Geddes are the men responsible. Their enormous raves consistently present massive names in house and techno, like Steve Bug, Seth Troxler, A:rpia:r and Jamie Jones. They have won the hearts of London's underground club scene by combining musical credibility with their unpretentious approach to clubbing. The mulletover crowd is a sea of smiles and ridiculous outfits. They have gathered momentum and yet more fans with each party, recently representing at Bloc festival and of course their awesome Lovebox arena. They turn seven this April. We chatted with co-founder, Rob Star.
What are you boldest memories of your earliest parties?
The best memory of our early parties was actually pulling the first one off. I'd been working on the venue for months (and I was living there), so it was a real labour of love. When it finally all came together it was a special moment. I just wish we'd taken some video footage!
You're famous for conjuring wild themed parties. What was the craziest?
Hallowe'en is always pretty crazy – we try to encourage people to dress up in all sorts of fancy dress, not just Hallowe'en attire, so there are always some amazing outfits!
Have you been confronted by any outstanding obstacles at any point?
We always have venue issues. When you constantly want to move the party around, it's always difficult to find suitable spaces – those places that have an air of magic about them, but where you can still put in a massive Funktion one rig and not disturb anyone!
Do you feel your music policy has changed over the past years?
The music is always evolving, but for me it's all house music. If we like it we'll play it.
What is the key to pulling people back through the door each time?
I think people just trust our parties now, they know what to expect, they know that we're going to pay attention to the details, which makes for a great party.
What's the best rave moment of your life?
That's a tricky one. To be honest it would probably have to be mulletover's first rave in the hills in Ibiza – you can't beat raving outside when the sun comes up.
What is the next theme that you'd like your next party slapped up with. Are there any big events we can look forward to in the future?
Obviously, the next big one is the birthday. We don't have a theme, but you can expect the usual birthday wrongness.
What's your favourite rave attire/accessory?
Definitely one of my stoles – it was the double mink, but I lost that last year at The Secret Garden Party, so now it's probably the seven stoats.
Where do you see yourself headed in the next ten years?
My future definitely lies in the venues. I love the whole process. Finding spaces, seeing their potential.
Who are the heads to watch in 2011?
Space Dimension Controller, Oscar Thornton.
What younger promoters are you most impressed by and why?
They aren't all necessarily younger than me, but I love what the Lo-kee boys are doing and the guys from Half Baked.
Track of the day?
Top Buzz, Living in Darkness
Mulletover's 7th Birthday is on April 2nd at a secret location.
