The Fat Lady to sing at this year’s Burning Man?

In a word, no.

Fat Lady

Satirical newspaper The Shroom  have wreaked panic in the ‘burner’ community with their article which claims this year’s Burning Man is to be the last.

The desert festival actually did sell out of tickets yesterday for the first time ever. Ticket prices have rocketed and are being sold at huglely inflated prices on eBay and craigslist. One joker has one advertised for one million dollars:

“Hi. I have a Burning Man ticket, and I’m selling it for one million dollars. The million dollars must be paid in United States one dollar bills which I will burn in a pile on the playa as some kind of retarded example of the futility of money or something.”

The Shroom successfully pokes fun at the desperation and frantic scramble for tickets which happens with many of the big, popular festivals (Glasto being a case in point). Burners worldwide have been frantically retweeting the news – despite the fact that it appeared on the same page as a newsflash about a Unicorn Flu epidemic.

The article also claimed Harvey was a “shape-shifting vampire”. Get a grip guys…
