An Interview with Jaguar Skills

An Interview with Jaguar Skills

We ask Jaguar skills eight irrelevant questions and get what we deserve - eight irrelevant answers.

Being a kind of super hero personality with a secret identity do you have any special powers?

Yeah loads. I possess the power to never wake up before midday.

Are there any others that you would like?

I'd like to be able to protect my nipples while DJing - some type of organic nipple guard type thing. Why? Well, I managed to sheer the ends of my nipples off last week while djing....don't ask....

Which ninja turtle would you be and why?

I'd be the bad guy who kills the Turtles.....

Tell us a bit about your involvement with Smirnoff, are you looking forward to playing with N.E.R.D?

I'm terrified and very excited...I mean, N.E.R.D. is pretty big stuff. I'm going to try my best....that's all I can do. And if I muck it all up, it's fine I guess, my mask will hide my shame.

Who would be your dream collaboration and why?

There's this producer called Prince Paul. He's produced the early De La Soul albums. He's a genius. I'd love to work with him. Oh, and a dream for me would be to produce a radio channel on a Grand Theft Auto computer game.

What would you be doing if you weren't DJing?

I would try and become a video game world champion. Like the best Xbox player in the world, but I'd probably fail at that. Oh, I was a fishmonger once. Did you get that? I can gut a mackerel in under 3 seconds, pretty impressive, eh?

A Jaguar's main skills are stalking their prey, and climbing trees. How do you feel these help your DJing?

I tried DJing up a tree once, wasn't that fun, fell down. Plus I got caught once stalking Grand Master Flash. We're friends now tho'. So, no, these skills aren't really needed to DJ. Plus, I'm not really a Jaguar, you know? It's just a made up stage name.

If you were locked up forever without hope of escape, but allowed you to take one record with you what would you take?

Humm....one record I would take? 'Everybody Loves The Sunshine' by Roy Ayers is one of my favourite records of all time. So I'd take that.

Listen, would love to chat more, but I gotta run....but I'll see you at the gig....see ya! HooooOOOOOOOO!!! xx

Jaguar Skills will be playing alongside Zane Lowe and N*E*R*D Live at the grand finale of the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project, where 14 countries are swapping nightlife on the same night.  To find out more visit http://www.facebook.com/smirnoffGB
