Boogie Cartel, EtNIK and Infinity Ink: Dancefloor Bombs

It's the freakin' weekend...

Tom picks: Madonna - Lucky Star (Boogie Cartel edit) Madonna Lucky Star The Boogie Cartel re-edit by Captain Turtle

A typically ace camp banger from The Boogie Cartel. If you're going to edit a Madonna tune, this is how you do it. It lures you in with a teasing a capella before letting the synths and drums make a man out of you. This has been destroying dancefloors for the past few months, and it's finally been released on free download. Fill yer boots.

Lowri picks: EtNIK - Neon Daze Etnik - Neon Daze by ET?IK

This is making me rush at my desk. A rapidly building skyscraper of compressed acid techno which towers thrillingly over the weekend. The vocal - in German naturally - goes "wait wait wait, stop" and then counts the beat back in "ein svi dri fear"...when it slams you all its unbridled glory.

This is a taster from German techno hotshot EtNIK's debut album, Can't wait for the full release.

Emma picks - Infinity Ink - Infinity CRM095 INFINITY INK - INFINITY by Crosstown Rebels

I must admit when I heard garage was making a comeback I had my reservations, but it as it turns out, there's some pretty good throwback house hitting the dancefloors at the moment, and a lot of it is garage-inspired. Or should I be calling it nu-garage? Or future garage? Or post-dubstep?! Whatever the heck it is, I'm liking it.

This new track by Infinity Ink is a prime example, as Ali Love's distinctive vocals are married with a killer bassline from Luca C. The remix by Todd Edwards should be commended as well: with its beautifully warm groove, it's got summer written all over it. If these are the kind of productions we can look forward to in the 'post-dubstep' era, count me in.
